SUP, as it is commonly called in the water sports world, has been around for several decades now and is even recognized as a competitive discipline by the French Surfing Federation. If you practice this sport or want to practice it, there is a question that often comes up: which paddle boards to choose?

Choosing the right board

This sport is for everyone. If you just want to be on the water quietly paddling and feel yourself sliding on the water or on the contrary you are looking for strong sensations and prefer to surf on waves you can be satisfied. Nevertheless, to be really satisfied with your experience, you will have to choose the best board adapted to your needs.

Which board to choose?

To choose your board, you have to take into account the use you want to make of it, i. e. on the water and the adequacy with your morphology.

There are 2 types of SUP boards:

- Rigid paddles

- Inflatable paddles

To choose a rigid paddle, you must take into account your storage capacity, i. e., do you have a garage for storage, for example, and to transport the paddle, you must ensure that you have the means to transport the paddle.

On the contrary, if you opt for an inflatable paddle, you will be more flexible because it does not require any means of transport (except for the pouch and your arms ;-) ), it does not require large means of storage when you do not have any (you can deflate it after each use) and if you have a storage space you are not obliged to deflate it all the time. It is also recommended not to deflate it all the time to better preserve it and this durably.
