It lights up as it falls into the water due to the tilting effect of the batteries.
The spring is in permanent contact with the base of the bulb and the positive terminal of the batteries. The wire is in permanent contact with the bulb socket.
Technical specifications
Accessory for boat safety, the Plastimo floating reversing light is approved in France (in accordance with Division 140).
- Off position : at rest, the weight of the batteries compresses the spring and cuts the contact (when the lamp of the flip-flop light is oriented downwards).
- On position: when thrown into the water, the geometry of the light causes it to automatically position itself vertically. The batteries slide into the tube and make contact with the wire that powers the bulb.
Tip: hang your Plastimo flip-flop light on the lifebuoy on board. This way, the man overboard will be easier to spot and locate.
