The Cyalume is a plastic tube that contains a colored fluorescent solution. The Cyalumes sticks with a duration of lighting of 12h. They produce a light equivalent to a candle flame.

For best visibility from a distance, the Cyalume should be moving through the air. If possible, rotate it above you by hanging it on a garrote. This is harder for a castaway who can just hold the Cyalume at the end of his arm.
