Boat Anodes

Boat anodes protect the submerged metal parts of your boat by preventing electrolytic corrosion caused by seawater. This natural corrosion phenomenon, known as electrolysis, occurs when two metals of different composition are immersed in a conductive liquid such as seawater. An electric current is then created between them, and the metal with the lower electrical potential acts as the anode. This effect will lead to deterioration, which you should avoid by buying your boat anodes from Nautisports.

BOAT & MARINE ANODES

Boat anodes protect the metal components common to all boats, such as the hull, rudder, shaft nut or shaft end, motor base, propellers and flaps, and transom. There are also specific anode models to match the make of your boat's engine, as with zinc anodes for Suzuki. Boat anodes come in different shapes and materials, such as magnesium anodes, aluminum anodes and zinc anodes. Each material has its own specific use. For freshwater sailing, you'll need to choose a magnesium anode, while aluminum anodes will be used for a boat sailing in sea or brackish water, and zinc anodes for sea water only.

When it comes to fitting your boat anodes, there are several options available. Weld-on anodes, bolt-on bar anodes or hanging anodes, choose from the various models available in our boat anodes catalog. If a marine anode installed on your boat doesn't deteriorate, it's not fulfilling its role, and you'll need to find the cause. If you need to replace it, our range covers a number of marine anode models, such as the collar anode, Plastimo bar anode, Super Marine hanging anode and bolt-on anodes.

BOAT ANODES ON NAUTISPORTS

We remind you that it is essential to install one or more anodes on your boat to protect it from the effects of electrolysis. Whether you own a motorboat or a sailboat, it's imperative to install an anode below the waterline to ensure a longer life for the metal parts of your boat, from the motor base to the shaft line. Anodes are even more important if your boat has a steel or aluminum hull. In our boat maintenance category, we offer a wide choice of Plastimo anodes and Super Marine anodes available for delivery.

You'll find all our marine anodes in aluminum, zinc or magnesium, depending on whether you sail in fresh or salt water. Protect your boat's sensitive components with our selection of rudder rosette anodes, shaft nut anodes, engine and propeller anodes.
