There are many polishing products on the market, each tailored to specific needs. Among the most popular are the Starbrite Boat Polish, the Polish Medium 3M and the Starbrite Polycarbonate Boat Polish.

How to polish your boat?

For effective polishing, it is important to follow the steps recommended by the manufacturer of the product used. Generally, we start by cleaning the hull with a product like Nautic Clean Ultra or Matt Chem to remove dirt and stains. Then, we move on to the shining step with a product like Perfect Gelcoat from Nautic Clean or Polish Lustrage from Starbrite. This step allows you to prepare the surface to receive the polish itself.

Finally, we apply the polish using circular movements using an abrasive polishing paste such as Polish Renovateur from Nautic Clean or Polish Cire from Starbrite. It is recommended to use a hook-and-loop tray and a microfiber cloth to avoid damaging the gelcoat of the hull.

It contains a protective wax which ensures a lasting shine while protecting the shell from UV rays and external elements. It is very simple to use: simply apply it to a clean, dry surface using circular movements using a suitable brush.

PROFESSIONAL POLISH

The Polish Medium 3M is a quality polishing product professionalwhich allows you to treat gelcoat boat hulls with more significant imperfections, such as scratches or discoloration spots. This polish contains medium-sized abrasives that help reduce microcracks and imperfections in the hull surface. Its use requires a prior polishing step. Once the surface is perfectly smooth, 3M Polish Medium can be applied by hand or using an electric polisher equipped with a foam pad.
