AIS SART RADAR RECEIVER WITH DISPLAY NASA MARINE: ANTI-COLLISION INSURANCE

The NASA Marine AIS SART Radar Receiver with Display is an AIS receiver/plotter that displays navigation data from nearby AIS targets. It is designed for use with a GPS and VHF antenna. This product is specifically designed for recreational boats. The primary functionality of the AIS Radar is toevaluate collision courses and monitor safety distances to surrounding vessels.

NASA MARINE AIS SART RADAR RECEIVER OPERATION

The unit consists of a dual frequency AIS receiver, demodulator, signal processor, and backlit matrix display. It receives an NMEA (RMC) input from the GPS input from your boat's GPS, which places the user in the center of a radar-style display. A COG pointer can be selected by the user. All vessels carrying AIS equipment and SART transponders are displayed the distance to the user. Any vessel on the screen can be selected by the user. The selected vessel is highlighted and its data is displayed on the right side of the screen. This data includes the vessel's MMSI number, name, ground track, ground speed, distance, latitude and longitude. Vessel detection ranges are 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 nautical miles.

CAUTION: The AIS SART is an AIS receiver only and does not transmit AIS data. It should not be confused with an AIS transponder.
