The dry suit: stay dry during your light sailing session
When the weather gets rough, it becomes even more important to protect yourself from water infiltration and splashing. Whether you practice dinghy sailing, kitesurfing or windsurfing, you will find here our selection of dry suits, ideal for this kind of nautical activities.
Why opt for a dry suit
You will need to invest in a dry suit if you plan to go out in cold weather. The main purpose of a dry suit is obviously to keep you dry, as humidity will make you get cold very quickly. A dry suit is effective thanks to two criteria. The first is the material used for the suit itself. It must be completely waterproof, i. e. with a waterproof level of at least 10,000 mm.
The second criterion is the protection of the sleeves and collar. In general, these are made of neoprene, and tight enough to prevent water from penetrating the sleeves, collar and or ankles. These are the two criteria that guarantee effective waterproofing for sailing in difficult conditions. Another advantage of a dry suit is that it is windproof, which means that it will prevent air from seeping in and causing you to catch a cold. Finally, a dry suit allows you to wear several layers underneath, to ensure optimal thermal comfort.
