On a vest, a harness, a garment: SOLAS reflective strips associated with a light stick optimize your location
REMINDER: By law, life jackets are already equipped with reflective strips with a minimum surface area.
- 50 Newtons (buoyancy aid) --> optional reflective surface
- 100 Newtons (lifejacket) --> mandatory reflective surface 100 cm2
- 150 Newtons (life jacket) --> mandatory reflective surface 300 cm2
- 275 Newtons (lifejacket) --> mandatory reflective surface 400 cm2
On a foam vest (with inherent buoyancy), the reflective bands are visible.
On an inflatable lifejacket, they are placed on the inner tube and therefore visible only when the lifejacket is hit, when it is essential to optimize visibility.
