The Wichard Self-Locking Shackle is sometimes the only possibility to fix specific equipment : fixing a lifeline or any other strap.
It can also be the only shackle that will fit on thick plates (the base of a guide bar is several centimeters long, for example).
The head of the shackle locks into notches, which prevents unintentional unscrewing. For definitive fastenings, prefer shackles with a hollow hexagon pin.
